My first timid steps
When I first heard the word “blog” I thought what an ugly sounding word . And now here I am, writing the first few words in this bold new world of *yikes* blogging. I have written for the public before, so this does not scare me. I journal some in private, so this does not intimidate me. I find myself concerned, though, wondering if I can keep up the pace and blog regularly.
But since my gut feeling of the word blog hasn’t changed since I first heard it ( even though I now know it is a word made by shortening the term “weblog”). I will be introducing a new term to refer to this blog when blogging. There we have it — an over use of and eventual avoidance of it as much as possible!
And here I am on a Sunday afternoon, listening to Most Wonderful Mate prepare apple crisp in the kitchen; listening to Active Daughter (who is almost 4) running up and down the hall with my grandsons (from now on referred to without verbal adornment as GS1, GS2, GS3, and GS4). Today is is the sound of feet from GS2 and GS3, while GS4 coos and babbles in his carseat on the kitchen floor.
In anticipaton of doing this again, soon, probably tomorrow, I will make a small predge to you, my reader: each time I write, I will do my best to leave you with something useful — an ispiration, advice, a recipe, a craft or something for you to use.
Today I leave you with this: Take time for yourself.
