A Way to Start the New Year

Hi Readers!
You may have read my blog entry a few weeks ago about cleaning out teenage son’s room. Well, now it’s teenage daughter’s turn. She went snowboarding yesterday and before leaving, couldn’t find her snow pants or goggles. She had to borrow brother’s goggles, and wear snow pants that really didn’t fit!
Well, now, before her New Year’s eve celebration at a friend’s house, she will be cleaning, organizing and sorting every nook and cranny of her room.
I think it will be a very good way for her to start the new year, in a clean room. She will find lots of things she had “lost” and she will unburden herself of other things she no longer needs. I expect that it will be a BIG JOB, so….I guess I will be having her home a lot in the next 5 or so days.
I look forward to the results, and even if she doesn’t look forward to it all, I know she’ll be glad when it is accomplished.
Here’s to a squeaky clean New Year’s Day!

My mom used to clean my room. She got so sick of my room being messy. I hated it when she cleaned it because then I couldn’t find anything. I had everything in its special place and she would forget to tell me where she put things.
Hi and thanks for commenting! I agree that she wouldn’t be able to find anything if I did the cleaning — so that’s why she’s doing it! I tolerated the mess untiil she couldn’t find her expensive goggles and snow pants. That was the end of the line!
My sister, whom I shared a room with, was much neater than I was. When she cleaned one time she threw away the dried up old lilac that my now husband of 32 years gave me on our first date! I learned to put keepsakes away after that!
Happy New Year!
