How to Heal Our Land

American Flag

VERSE:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then
will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will

heal their land.”
    — 2 Chronicles 7:14

When we grumble but do nothing, how does that feel?  When we do a little thing, yes, that feels better - like we are productive. We are helping the situation.

As parents, we raise our children, giving them the best we can, and then sending them forth to the world.  We hope and we pray that they will enlighten, brighten, help out the world — and not be eaten by it.

In many senses, this is our prayer for our nation.  But what else does this verse call for?  Humbling ourselves, praying, and changing our ways.

I am not used to being told that I have “wicked” ways, that I must give up.  But the fact is, each of us can improve - even if in the littlest way.  Can we quit complaining, quit gossiping, be a bit more honest?  Could we work just a little bit harder — or maybe the opposite — could we relax a little bit better, allowing ourselves to be re-created by peace and recreation.

Look inside for the answer.  If we seek, we shall find.  And Pray!

Peace,

Ann
